posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Crunchyroll rolled out its latest United States popularity map for the current anime simulcast season on Tuesday. The map shows the service's top non-sequel anime series in each state for the spring 2018 season based on current viewers of each show's most recent episode.
Coming out on top, is boxing underdog MEGALOBOX, the futuristic ode to Asao Takamori's Ashita no Joe manga. A total of 22 out of 50 states are tuning in to dramatic sports series. Coming up closely behind it is the Sword Art Online spin-off Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. 14 states are closely following Llen and her pink gun's adventures in the gun-based MMORPG.
The remaining states were claimed by Persona 5, Caligula, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, Hinamatsuri, Golden Kamuy, Uma Musume Pretty Derby, or Comic Girls.
Crunchyroll often polls its users and analyzes their otaku habits. An infographic revealed in November that 90% of the site's users identify as gamers.
