Pop Team Epic's AC-bu Creates Music Video for DJ Powder

Before AC-bu created Pop Team Epic's infamous "Bob Epic Team" and "Hellshake Yano" segments, they were creating viral music videos. AC-bu have recently returned to their roots with a bizarrely animated music video produced for Tokyo-based music producer/DJ Powder's latest song "New Tribe".
The video, which was first posted on AC-bu's YouTube channel on January 23, contains all the hallmarks of their Pop Team Epic work: deliberately off-model character animation, uncanny movements, and a thorough embracing of "kitsch" as art. The video depicts Powder's evolution from an office worker in Tokyo to acclaimed DJ.
AC-bu is comprised of two men: Shunsuke Itakura and Toru Adachi. Their segments on Pop Team Epic inspired internet memes, and even culminated in them performing a fast-paced kamishibai story in the vein of "Hellshake Yano" on a Japanese variety show.
"New Tribe" is one of two new tracks by Powder composed for her new Powder in Space mix. According to the Beats in Space record label, which is releasing the mix, Powder in Space will get its full release on February 15.
