"Stronger" also samples Daft Punk's anime-related "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"
In an exclusive interview with SOHH.com, music video director Hype Williams has confirmed that the music video for Kanye West's new single "Stronger" was directly inspired by the classic anime Akira. West, who is an anime fan, came up with the original idea for the video, and at one point, he and Williams planned on incorporating segments of the film into it.
Stronger also samples Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"—which itself was used as one of the songs in the full-length animated music video "Insterstella 5555." The "Stronger" video can be seen here.
