Japanese Box Office, August 18–19: Vexille Opens at #9

The science-fiction anime parable Vexille - 2077 Nippon Sakoku opened at 9th place on the top ten chart for this past weekend's box office in Japan. It was the only new film in the top ten. Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl: Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai stayed at 5th place for a third weekend in its six-week run, while the Masked Rider Den-Ō/Denei-ban Jūken Sentai Gekiranger live-action special-effects double feature stayed at 7th place during its third weekend. Naruto Shippūden the Movie managed to hang onto 8th place in its second weekend. Source: Kogyo Tsushinsha
