MariMite Pizza Hut Japan Campaign, Fan Disk Announced
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Maria-sama ga Miteru high school anime series has announced a Pizza Hut tie-in campaign, an OVA fan disk DVD, a web radio show, and a Comic Market exclusive CD. The anime is based on Oyuki Konno and Reine Hibiki's shōjo light novels about the complicated relationships within the walls of the Lillian All-Girls Catholic High School.
When customers in Japan buy a medium pizza, they get a pizza box with a Maria-sama ga Miteru design as well as personal computer wallpaper and mobile phone graphics online. Those who order online will enter a drawing for one stamp sheet signed by the main cast, nine signed scripts, and 20 OVA Fan Disks.
The OVA Fan Disks are two newly announced DVDs that summarizes the recent video-only third season with commentaries, music videos, video footage of the cast, a collection of episode previews, commercials, and new audio recordings. The first DVD will also include a CD with a cast recording of the "Joy to the World" song and previously unreleased soundtrack pieces. The first DVD will ship on February 22, and second will ship at the end of May.
A free web radio show will begin streaming from the Animate.tv website on December 21 with appearances by Kana Ueda (Yumi) and other guests. Finally, the distributor Frontier Works will offer the tentatively titled Maria-sama ga Miteru: '07 Winter Special "D.J" CD at Tokyo's Comic Market 73 event from December 29 to December 31. The CD will include a new talk show recording, an original radio drama titled Mahō Shōjo Shimako: Hajimari no Hi (Magical Girl Shimako: The First Day) and a cast recording of the "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" song.
A fourth season was announced in the Japanese magazine Cobalt in July. Pizza Hut ran a campaign for the new Evangelion movies in Japan in September.
