The North American distributor Funimation notified retailers of a recall of Itsudatte My Santa!, a romance comedy anime title with a December 11 release date and a misprint in its age rating. On December 10, Funimation requested that retailers return the DVDs of this title. Funimation tells ANN that the DVD was labeled as "TV-PG" (parental guidance suggested), when it was intended to have a TV-MA (mature audience only) rating due to animated nudity and other content. Funimation self-rates its releases, as do most of the North American distributors on titles that do not receive wide theatrical distribution.
Funimation adds, "Although, we have not received any complaints from consumers, as a responsible entertainment provider we felt we needed to alert our fans and their parents so they can make an educated buying decision." The company plans to re-release the title for the 2008 holiday season. The anime project adapts a one-installment manga short by Ken Akamatsu, the creator of Love Hina and Negima! Magister Negi Magi.
