Artist Mimei Sakamoto to Sign Manga in Los Angeles

Creator of Harvey and Etsuko's Manga Guide to Japan, Nippon no Mimei
The North American publisher Japanime has announced that manga artist Mimei Sakamoto will appear at a book signing at Kinokuniya Books in Los Angeles, California on March 2. Sakamoto and Charles Danziger co-created Harvey and Etsuko's Manga Guide to Japan, a look at Japan through the fictional eyes of a mouse from Manhattan and a cat from Tokyo. She also draws the Nippon no Mimei social commentary manga in Fusosha's Weekly Spa! magazine and writes essays about the state of Japan and popular culture in several publications. Previously, she adapted the Rapunzel fairy tale, Greek mythology, and Roman history into manga. She is in Los Angeles to research for an upcoming book.
