Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Austin to screen Ex Machina at 9:45 p.m.

The Downtown Austin location of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema theater chain will be screening Shinji Aramaki's Appleseed: Ex Machina sequel film on Wednesday evening at 9:45 p.m. The 2007 computer-graphics film adapts Masamune Shirow's manga about a paramilitary police unit in a less-than-utopian future city-state. Most of the staff and cast from the first Appleseed film returned for this project, and Hong Kong cinema's John Woo came aboard as a producer. The screening will be free for Fantastic Fest badge holders (with RSVP at the festival's Facebook page) or US$5.00 for general admission.
