Megane Ōtomo to draw first new Saber Marionette story in nine years

A new Saber Marionette manga serialization called Saber Marionette i ~Neo Gene~ will launch in the August issue (on sale on July 9) of Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine in Japan. The announcement of the new manga will be made in the magazine's July issue, which goes on sale on Monday. Satoru Akahori, who created this franchise about fighting android girls, is credited with the manga's original story, while Megane Ōtomo draws the manga.

North America's Tokyopop published Yumisuke Kotoyoshi's Saber Marionette J manga, which originally appeared in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Comic Dragon and Monthly Dragon Junior magazines from 1996 to 1999. Bandai Entertainment has released all of the Saber Marionette anime series, although Media Blasters has since picked up the license for the Saber Marionette R anime. There has not been a new Saber Marionette novel, manga, or anime since the Saber Marionette J manga and the Saber Marionette J to X anime (pictured at right) ended in 1999.
