Spice and Wolf Anime Announces Holo Hand Puppet in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Gamers! and Animate character goods stores have announced this week that a hand puppet of the Holo wolf-girl character from the Spice and Wolf fantasy anime will go on sale in August. That will be one month after the Japanese premiere of Spice and Wolf II, the second television season based on Isuna Hasekura and Jū Ayakura's light novels. The 36-centimeter-tall (14-inch-tall) puppet will feature interchangeable eyes and Holo's characteristic tail. The puppet already has a planned appearance on Ōkamikku Radio (the web radio program dedicated to the franchise) early next month. A second hand puppet was made of Lawrence, the main hero of Spice and Wolf, but the official Spice and Wolf staff blog said that there are no plans to mass-produce his puppet.
Kadokawa Pictures USA acquired an in-house license for the first Spice and Wolf anime season in North America, although the announcement on a distributor is still forthcoming. Yen Press did acquire the original light novels and Keito Koume's manga adaptation for English translation.
