Cencoroll Film's Ad Streamed for August 22 Opening
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for Atsuya Uki's Cencoroll science-fiction anime film has posted an 18-second commercial to promote the film's August 22 theatrical opening in Tokyo and Osaka. Cencoroll's story begins when a giant monster sends a town's citizens into a panic — except for a girl named Yuki and her schoolmate Tetsu. Tetsu happens to have his own strange creature named Cenco as a pet. Another boy named Shū is controlling the monster threatening the people, and the stage is set for a battle.
According to the sponsors Aniplex and Anime Innovation Tokyo, uki directed, wrote, designed, and animated the project himself. This is the first time that Aniplex (Fullmetal Alchemist, Kannagi) backed a project that was animated almost entirely by one person. The film's website announced the film's cast which includes Kana Hanazawa (Yuki), Hiro Shimono (Tetsu), Ryōhei Kimura (Shū), and Satomi Moriya (Yuki's friend Kei).
