Ryo Katsuji, Aki Toyosaki to star; Kadokawa launches 2 manga of anime by FMA staff

The official website for Seiji Mizushima and Bones' upcoming anime Un-Go posted the cast for the two main characters on Friday. Ryo Katsuji (Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer's Descartes Shaman, Origin: Spirits of the Past's Agito) will play Shinjūrō Yūki, and Aki Toyosaki (K-ON!'s Yui Hirasawa, Hanasaku Iroha's Nako Oshimizu) will play Inga.

In the story of Un-Go, Shinjūrō and Inga work together to solve mysteries in a near future timeline. The story is based on the works of Ango Sakaguchi (Aoi Bungaku Series' "In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom"), a post-World War II Japanese novel and essayist. Shō Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost Slayers Ayashi, Martian Successor Nadesico) is writing the scripts, and pako (Scar-red Rider XechS) and Yun Kouga (Gundam 00, Loveless, Earthian) are handling the character designs.

The official website also revealed on Friday that the new Newtype Ace magazine and Monthly Newtype will both publish manga adaptations of the anime. J-ta Yamada (Asatte no Houkou) will draw the manga adaptation that will be published in Newtype Ace on September 10.

The other manga, titled Un-Go ~Inga Ron, will have Aikawa writing the story, and pako will illustrate in collaboration with Yun Koga. The manga will be published in Monthly Newtype on September 10. Un-Go ~Inga Ron will depict Shinjūrō and Inga's first meeting and their first case.

The Un-Go anime will premiere in October.
