Nihon Omoshiro Mukashi Banashi TV Anime Debuts Next Month
posted on by Egan Loo
The dancer and artist group Moscow Mule Family revealed on Monday that the weekly Nihon Omoshiro Mukashi Banashi (Interesting Japanese Folk Tales) anime series will premiere on the Chiba TV station on November 6 at 7:45 a.m. 5-gatsu-byō Mario, an Moscow Mule Family artist known for his work on the Nico Nico Douga service, created and designed the project, and Katsunari Mochizuki is directing it at his studio Akiba Koubou and CRO SSPHERE.
The Nihon Omoshiro Mukashi Banashi name is an apparent homage to Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi, the classic 1970s television series of shorts that animated familiar Japanese folk tales. Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi returned to popularity this year when the Tokyo Broadcasting Systems re-aired episodes in October and April, and the repeats beat many first-run anime in ratings.
