Hyouka Teen Mystery Manga to Bundle Original Anime BD

The May issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine is announcing on Monday that the limited edition of Taskohna's third Hyouka manga volume will bundle an original anime Blu-ray Disc when it ships next January. Yasuhiro Takemoto, the director of the upcoming Hyouka television anime, is basing his script for the original anime Blu-ray Disc on a plot by author Honobu Yonezawa. The episode follows an incident at the municipal swimming pool and will run about 25 minutes long.
The bundled edition, which will have the manga volume itself with a variant cover, original anime Blu-ray, and a tall case, will be limited to the number of copies ordered before September 29.
The manga is based on Yonezawa's novel of the same name, which is also inspiring a television anime series premiering in April. The original novel follows a boy named Hōtarō (played by Yūichi Nakamura) who is not assertive about getting involved, but was ordered by his older sister to join the classic literature club (kotenbu). In the club, he gets close to the truth about an incident, involving a female member's uncle, which happened 33 years ago. The "energy-saving" boy is joined by an inquisitive girl in the mystery series.
