Crunchyroll Adds Yurumates 3D TV Anime

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Series based on saxyun's gag comedy manga to premiere this week

The media site Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will begin streaming the television anime adaptation of saxyun's four-panel Yurumates comedy manga on Friday at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The series will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide except in Japan. The anime is premiering on Tuesday at 1:35 a.m. in Japan.

Two original video animation (OVA) titles have already been created from the property: Yurumates Ha? and Yurumates. The new show's cast remains unchanged from the previous title: Halko Momoi as Yurume, Miyu Matsuki as Kumi Tanaka, Natsuko Kuwatani as Sae Kawano, and Satoshi Hino as Matsukichi. Tomohiro Tsukimizato is serving as the title's chief director, while Yoshihide Yuuzumi is the director, scriptwriter, and episode director. Takeshi Oda is the anime's character designer and animation director, and C2C is animating the series.

The gag comedy centers on Yurume, an 18-year-old rōnin (a high school graduate who has yet to be accepted into college). Yurume moves to the outskirts of Tokyo to study for the next entrance exams. She ends up living in Maison du Wish, an apartment complex full of aimless "veteran rōnin" who have been out of school for years.
