Greg Penny/4°C's 1st Project: 13 Fundraiser Falls Short

posted on by Kimberly Grace

77 contributors have pledged only US$9,139 toward the US$390,000 goal set by Siwa Productions for the production of the original anime Project: 13. However, the members of the project said that they have received "commitments from outside parties that will help… with a portion of the production resources," and is planning to relaunch a second funding campaign "with a more doable goal" in the near future.

Greg Penny, a producer who worked on albums for k.d. lang, Elton John, and other musicians, intends to develop a trilogy of five-minute animated music videos with Japan's Studio 4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, The Animatrix, Genius Party). The project had "the necessary financial and artistic resources to start," but needed the fundraising program to cover the cost of completion.
