Feature-length anime film to open in Japan on October 27

A television commercial for Eiga Smile Precure: Ehon no Naka wa Minna Chiguhagu! (Smile Precure! the Movie: Everyone Is All Mixed Up Inside the Picture Book!) anime film aired last week. This feature-length film based on the Smile Precure! magical girl television series is slated to open in Japan on October 27.

The Smile Precure! series began airing on Japanese television on February 5 of this year. It tells the story of five legendary warriors called Pretty Cures who have been gathered by a fairy from Märchenland, where characters from fairy tales are mingled together. The magical girls' goal is to collect the Cure Décor, tokens of happiness that have been stolen and hidden away when Märchenland was attacked by the Bad End Kingdom, a land where fairy tale antagonists gather. The film is "set" within a picture book.

Advance tickets will go on sale on July 14, and while supplies last, participating theaters will offer them with a "stylish tote bag" in either pink or blue. The front of the bag shows the magical girls, while the back shows them in princess form.
