Black Rock Shooter, Wandering Son TV Anime Win Technical Awards

The Motion Picture and Television Engineering Society of Japan has announced the winners of the 65th MPTE Awards. Winners of the top prizes for technical achievement included the Black Rock Shooter television anime in the broadcast animation category, and Friends: Mononoke Shima no Naki in the theatrical animation category. The Wandering Son anime received the honorable mention prize in the broadcast animation category, while One Piece 3D: Mugiwara Chase received it in the theatrical animation category.

Wandering Son director Ei Aoki commented on the win via his Twitter account, expressing his gratitude and congratulating the staff of the series on their work.

Past recipients for the top honors in the animation category include King of Thorn and Hipira-kun in 2011, Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror in 2010, and Ponyo in 2009.
