TV shorts based on Shiro's manga to premiere on Wednesday

The official website for the Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb) anime was revamped on Thursday with character designs and a streaming promotional video.

The title tells the story of childhood friends Aoi (a girl who prefers staying inside and who has acrophobia) and Hinata (a girl who loves mountains). The two decide to climb a mountain in order to once again see the Morning Sun from its peak as they did when they were young.

The cast includes Yuka Iguchi (Aoi), Kana Asumi (Hinata), Yui Ogura (Kokona), and Yōko Hikasa (Kaede). Yūsuke Yamamoto (Aquarion Evol, B Gata H Kei - Yamada’s First Time, Sgt. Frog) is directing and 8-Bit (Aquarion Evol, Infinite Stratos) will be responsible for animation production.

The series will premiere on Wednesday, January 2 from 25:30 to 25:35 (effectively, January 3 from 1:30 a.m. to 1:35 a.m.) on the Tokyo MX TV station.

Update: The video features the theme song "Staccato Days," which was composed by Tom-H@ck. New video added. Thanks, Vito Plahuta.
