Voice Actress Kaoru Shimamura Passes Away at 43

Voice actress Kaoru Shimamura passed away on Tuesday, February 26 at 3:06 p.m. in a Yokohama hospital due to breast cancer. She was 43. Services are being held by close relatives.

Shimamura was born in Yokohama under the name Hiroko Takahashi. She is best known to the general public as the voice of the lead CG character Ralph in the TBS Television information and variety program Rank Ōkoku. She also played the character Enoken in the E-tele program Hitori de Dekirumon!. In anime, she played Ramis in Chrome Shelled Regios, Ran Asuka in Devil Lady, Rex in Macross 7, and other roles.
