Level 5 president Akihiro Hino revealed at Japan Expo on July 5 that he wants to make a new Professor Layton title. Hino noted that he is pleased with the puzzle adventure series' sixth game that shipped in Feburary, but doesn't want the series to conclude. If it is possible to make a new Professor Layton title, Hino wants to include new challenges.
The video game publisher released the Professor Layton game series latest title, Layton-Kyōju to Chō-Bunmei A no Isan (Professor Layton and the Legacy of the Super Civilization A), on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on February 28. Nintendo revealed in April that it will release the game under the title Professor Layton & the Azran Legacy for the Nintendo 3DS game in North America in 2014.
Hino had stated that Professor Layton & the Azran Legacy would be the "final and greatest adventure" of Professor Layton, and it will feature more than 500 new puzzles. Bill Trinen of Nintendo of America noted in the North American release announcement that the game will mark the conclusion of the second trilogy in the Professor Layton franchise.
