Makoto Shinkai Lecture in Edinburgh for Students October 17

Event only open to students of animation and related degrees, or graduates in summer 2012 or 2013.

Makoto Shinkai, director of Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimetres per Second, Journey to Agartha and his new film The Garden of Words, will deliver a lecture in Edinburgh on Friday October 18. The venue is the Edinburgh College of Art. The lecture is free but it is only available to students of animation and related degrees in digital arts or video games or to anyone who graduated in summer 2012 or 2013. Registration is at this page.

The lecture will be at 10.15 a.m. and will be finished by noon. It is part of the 'Education Day' of the Scotland Loves Anime festival, and will come a day after Shinkai participates in a live Q&A at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on the Thursday evening (October 17).

The afternoon schedule of the Education day is TBA.
