2014 Godzilla Remake Has Prequel Comic in the Works

Godzilla: Awakening to arrive 9 days before film's May 16 opening
Director Gareth Edwards revealed on Wednesday that his Godzilla remake film will get a tie-in comic.
The prequel graphic novel, Godzilla: Awakening, will be illustrated by Eric Battle (X-Men, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman), Yvel Guichet (Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, Superboy Annual, End of Nations), Alan Quah (Rage, The Vampire Diaries, Anywhere), and Lee Loughridge (Batman Adventures, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Marvel Zombies Return), with cover art by Arthur Adams (Godzilla, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Uncanny X-Men). Max Borenstein and Greg Borenstein will write the comic.
Movie trade magazine Variety is reporting that the graphic novel will be released on May 7. The Godzilla film will open in theaters on May 16.
