Digimonstory Cybersleuth PS Vita Game's Story, Characters Unveiled

Suzuhito Yasuda returns to design characters for new Digimon game that lets players play as male, female protagonist

This year's 26th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is unveiling on Monday the details of the upcoming Digimonstory Cybersleuth PlayStation Vita game.

The game's story will follow either a female protagonist (seen bottom center in the image) or a male one, depending on the player's choice. When strange phenomena begin occurring, the protagonist becomes a "Cybersleuth," and searches for the truth behind the mysteries along with his or her Digimon and their other human allies: Arata Sanada (seen top left) and Nokia Shiromine (top right). As with the Digimon World Re:Digitize PSP game and its 3DS port Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode, artist and manga creator Suzuhito Yasuda (Durarara!, Yozakura Quartet, Kamisama Kazoku) will once again provide the character designs for the game.

In the game's dungeons, the player will encounter enemy Digimon to fight against with his or her partner Digimon. When a battle begins, the enemy's data will automatically be collected. When the data-collection rate reaches 100%, the player is able to make the enemy Digimon into an ally.

Bandai Namco Games is developing the game, and no release date has been set.
