'Final season' of main anime premieres next week

The official website for the Assassination Classroom television anime series revealed a new visual on Friday for the anime's "final season," which will start with the second season's 15th episode on April 14.

Docomo's dTV streaming service has additionally revealed that it will stream a second season of the anime's unaired "Extracurricular Lesson" episodes starting on April 29. The first season premiered on March 11 and had four episodes with each episode being five minutes long. The new season will also have four episodes.

The 15th episode of the main anime will also premiere the show's new opening and ending theme songs. The characters Nagisa (Mai Fuchigami), Kayano (Aya Suzaki), Karma (Nobuhiko Okamoto), Isogai (Ryota Ohsaka), and Maehara (Shintarō Asanuma) will perform the new opening theme song "Bye Bye Yesterday." Shion Miyawaki will perform the new ending theme song "Mata Kimi ni Aeru Hi" (The Day When I Can Meet You Again).

An interview with the anime's director Seiji Kishi in Weekly Shonen Jump revealed in February that the anime will cover the manga's final chapter. The manga ended in the magazine's 16th issue on March 19.

The main anime's second season premiered on January 7, and Funimation is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
