Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. began streaming a new trailer for One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch on Thursday to accompany the game's launch in North America and Europe. The game is available digitally in North America and both physically and digitally in Europe.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe already released the game digitally for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 25.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition launched in Japan on August 24. The game is an upgraded port of One Piece: Unlimited World Red, which Bandai Namco Entertainment released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in November 2013, and on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U in June 2014. The original game shipped on all four platforms in June 2014 in Europe and in July 2014 in North America.
The game allows for up to four players to play together, and players can explore the world of One Piece with their friends. Players can embark on different quests and battle enemies with many of the manga and anime's familiar characters. The game also allows players to fish, catch bugs, hunt for treasure, and more to develop and train their characters. The game features the original character Red (voiced by Masachika Ichimura), the game's nemesis who aims to be the Pirate King. Standing in his way are the Straw Hat Pirates and a new raccoon character named Pat (TARAKO).
Ganbarion developed the "multi action-adventure" title. The game features original characters designed by series' creator Eiichiro Oda, such as Red, Pat, and Yadoya (Rumi Hiiragi).
Disclosure: Bandai Namco Rights Marketing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., is a non-controlling, minority shareholder in Anime News Network Inc.
