Cardfight!! Vanguard Game to Launch 2 New TV Anime

New anime of first story, Bermuda Triangle spinoff anime, Cardfight!! Vanguard Zero game app announced

Bushiroad announced on Wednesday that it will debut a new television anime series based on its Cardfight!! Vanguard card game on May 5. Bushiroad will also produce a separate spinoff television anime based on the in-story Bermuda Triangle mermaid idols, as well as a smartphone game titled Cardfight!! Vanguard Zero. The below promotional video previews the new main Cardfight!! Vanguard anime's opening theme song "Legendary" by Roselia.

The new season embarks on a new story with Aichi and Kai returning to take up the helm as main protagonists. The audience will also find many beloved characters such as Misaki Tokura, Kamui Katsuragi and Ren Suzugamori appearing in this season.

This anime recounts the story and lead characters from the first manga by Akira Itō.

Itsurō Kawasaki (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT) is directing the anime at OLM. Masanao Akahoshi (Future Card Buddyfight, Future Card Buddyfight 100) is supervising the script. Satoru Isono (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT, Omamori Himari, Akane Maniax) is designing the characters. Teruhiko Niida (Kill Me Baby, Cardfight!! Vanguard G) is the art director. Yuichi Imaizumi (Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT) is the sound director.

Roselia is performing the opening theme song "Legendary," as heard in the promotional video above. The characters Aichi Sendou (as voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga) and Toshiki Kai (Takuya Satō) are performing the ending theme song "Gift from The Fight!!"

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11 on May 5, on TV Aichi on May 6, and on tvk on May 9. The series will also stream on AbemaTV, and episodes will debut on the official Cardfight!! Vanguard channel on YouTube and Crunchyroll with English subtitles after their Japanese broadcast, with English-dubbed episodes available at a later date.

The spinoff anime about Bermuda Triangle mermaid idols will debut in winter 2019, and it will run in the same time period as the main television anime.

Cardfight!! Vanguard GZ, the current ongoing anime in the franchise, debuted last October. An English dub for the series debuted last November.

Several of the other Cardfight!! Vanguard anime series also streamed outside Japan. Bushiroad is also releasing the card game in English.
