Animax Asia began streaming trailer videos on Thursday, revealing that it will air the Princess Principal and Vatican Miracle Examiner anime series.

Princess Principal will premiere on June 4, and Animax Asia will air two episodes every Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8.

The anime is set in late 19th century London, in an alternate history where the Albion Kingdom's colonial ambitions have met no rival since their discovery of "Cavorite," a mineral that allows the temporary nullification of gravity, and powers the Kingdom's fleet of airships. However, civil war and uprisings have torn the British Isles in two, with London itself divided into East and West by a wall between the Kingdom and the new Commonwealth. A cell of Commonwealth spies, each with their own set of skills, infiltrates the Kingdom to gather intelligence, extract defectors, and conduct sabotage. One of these spies, Chise, has a hidden history with Angie, the princess of the Kingdom herself.

The anime premiered in Japan last July. The anime is receiving a six-film theatrical sequel project starting in 2019.

Masaki Tachibana (Barakamon, .hack//Quantum) directed the series at Studio 3Hz and Actas. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) was in charge of the series composition and also wrote the scripts. Kouhaku Kuroboshi (Kino's Journey, Sky Girls) designed the original characters, and Yukie Akiya (Celestial Method, Code:Breaker) adapted the characters for animation and also served as a co-chief animation director for the series. Yuki Kajiura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) composed the music.

The project also received a smartphone game titled Princess Principal Game of Mission.

Vatican Miracle Examiner will premiere on June 13, and Animax Asia will air two episodes every Wednesday to Friday at 10:00 p.m. GMT +8.

A flyer from Kadokawa's booth at AnimeJapan 2017 describes the story in English:

To detect lies, refuse fakes, and reach the miracle of God - that is our mission as Vatican Miracle Examiners. Hiraga, a scientific genius and Roberto, an expert on the decryption of cryptography and ancient documents are not only good partners but also "Miracle Examiners" belonging to Vatican branch. They are secret examiners, who are requested to examine and identify the authenticity of miracles from all over the world. They encounter strange events at the places they visit for examination, such as an emerging stigma and an image of the Virgin Mary shedding tears. A bizarre incident suddenly occurs while the authenticity of a miracle is identified. The case file of the genius priest duo has just begun!

Yoshitomo Yonetani (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Brave King GaoGaiGar) directed the anime at J.C. Staff (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Little Busters!). Kazunori Iwakura (Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Ai Yori Aoshi) designed the characters, and Seishi Minakami (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Heaven's Memo Pad) was in charge of series composition.

SCREEN mode performed the show's opening theme song "Mysterium," and Nobuhiko Okamoto performed the ending theme song.

Rin Fujiki launched the original novel series under Kadokawa's Horror Bunko label in 2011. Thores Shibamoto (Trinity Blood character design, Attack on Titan: Before the Fall illustrator) designs the covers of the novels. The novels have more than one million copies in print.
