The organizers of Otakon announced on Monday that it will host animator and episode director Atsushi Nakayama, character designer and animation director Ryouma Ebata, and voice actor Chikahiro Kobayashi. All three worked on the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) television anime (Kobayashi voiced the character Ranga in the series).
The television anime of Taiki Kawakami's manga, which in turn adapted author Fuse and artist Mitz Vah's light novel series, premiered last October. Crunchyroll streamed the series, and Funimation Entertainment is streaming an English dub.
The anime will have a second season in 2020.

The event will also host rock band Bradio as musical guests; former Studio Ghibli staff member Hirokatsu Kihara; composer Kaoru Wada; Studio Trigger staff members Hiromi Wakabayashi, Shigeto Koyama, and Hiroyuki Imaishi; hip-hop artist Shing02; singers Diana Garnet and Nano; voice actresses Kikuko Inoue, Sayuri Hara, and Manaka Iwami; voice actors Toru Furuya, Makoto Furukawa, and Nobunaga Shimazaki; producers Masao Maruyama, Michihiko Suwa, and Shōichi Hotta; and directors Hiroshi Nagahama and Yoshiaki Kyougoku.
