Animax Asia Airs Re:Zero Director's Cut, A Destructive God Sits Next to Me in June

Re:Zero Director's Cut premieres on June 15 A Destructive God Sits Next to Me on June 18

Animax Asia announced on Friday that it will air the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Director's Cut and A Destructive God Sits Next to Me anime in June. Animax Asia is streaming English-subtitled trailers for both anime.


Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Director's Cut will premiere on June 15 at 11:00 p.m. GMT +8, with new episodes every weekday. The anime is an updated version of the television anime's first season. The anime premiered on January 1. The new edit of the first 25-episode season added some new footage and reworked the episodes to run in a one-hour timeslot.

The 25-episode first anime season of Tappei Nagatsuki's Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novel series premiered in April 2016. Animax Asia premiered the anime in January 2017.

The anime will have a second season. The anime's second season was delayed from April to July. The staff explained that "the global issues of the COVID-19 coronavirus illness have had a big effect on the production" of the show. The staff will reveal the new start date, time, and channels at a later date.

The anime has inspired two original video anime (OVA) volumes, titled Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Memory Snow and Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World - The Frozen Bond.


A Destructive God Sits Next to Me will premiere on June 18 at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8, and it will air new episodes every Wednesday and Thursday. The television anime adaptation of Arata Aki's Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu. manga premiered on January 11.

The manga follows Seri Koyuki, a high school student who tries to avoid strange people because he knows he will just end up being the the straight man to their antics. Enter Kabuto Hanadori, Koyuki's classmate who has chūnibyō (second-year middle school syndrome) and claims his eyepatch seals his god of destruction alter ego. Everything about Hanadori exudes the need for a straight man to keep him in check, and sure enough Koyuki is drawn in.

Atsushi Nigorikawa (Love Tyrant, Between the Sky and Sea, Anime De Training! Ex) directed the anime at EMT Squared. Natsuko Takahashi (Love Tyrant, My Love Story!!, The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar) handled the series composition, Yūki Nakano (key animator for Kan Colle, Nisekoi - False Love) designed the characters, and Kanako Hara composed the music. The vocal duo all at once performed the opening theme song "Take mo' Chance," and idol unit AŌP performed the ending theme song "Freedom de Muda ni Muteki!!"
