Aniplus Asia Airs Simulcast of Kingdom Season 6, Isekai Quartet Season 3

Kingdom season 6 premieres in Japan on October 4, Isekai Quartet 3 on October 13

Aniplus Asia announced on Tuesday and Thursday that it will air a simulcast of the sixth anime series of Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom manga, as well as Isekai Quartet 3, the third season for the Isekai Quartet crossover anime. Aniplus Asia will announce the premiere details for both anime at a later date.

The sixth season of Kingdom will premiere in Japan on October 4.

Previously announced new cast include:

Returning staff members include director Kenichi Imaizumi, scriptwriter Noboru Takagi, and character designer Hisashi Abe at studios Pierrot and St.Signpost. Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are returning to compose the music.  Ikimono-gakari will perform the opening theme song "Ikite, Sansan" (Live, Brilliantly).

In the new series, the battle between Qin and Zhao will begin, and Xin will take up Wang Yi's spear and charge onto the battlefield.

The fifth season premiered in January 2024, and aired for 13 episodes. Aniplus Asia previously aired all five seasons. The first television anime adaptation premiered in 2012, and a second series premiered in 2013. The third anime series premiered in April 2020. The show went on hiatus after four episodes due to COVID-19, but then resumed airing in April 2021. The anime restarted its airing from the first episode. The fourth series premiered on NHK General in April 2022.

Yasuhisa Hara's historical manga centers around the slave boy Xin and his dream of becoming a great general for the state of Qin. Xin helps Ying Zheng, the young Qin king who shares his desire to unify China, rise to power within the state. Xin does all he can to become a superior commander of an army capable of defeating the Seven Warring States.

The record-setting manga launched in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2006.

The manga has also inspired four live-action films. A fifth film will open in summer 2026.

The Isekai Quartet 3 anime will premiere in Japan on October 13.

The series will feature characters from Overlord, KONOSUBA, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Saga of Tanya the Evil, The Rising of The Shield Hero, and The Eminence in Shadow. The anime stars:

Yūsuke Kobayashi as Subaru (Re:Zero), Warren Grantz (Saga of Tanya the Evil)

Satoshi Hino as Ains (Overlord)

Jun Fukushima as Kazuma (KONOSUBA)

Aoi Yūki as Tanya (Saga of Tanya the Evil)

Kaito Ishikawa as Naofumi Iwatani (The Rising of The Shield Hero)

Seiichirō Yamashita as Cid Kagenou/Shadow (The Eminence in Shadow)

Rie Takahashi as Emilia (Re:Zero), Megumin (KONOSUBA)

Yumi Hara as Albedo (Overlord)

Sora Amamiya as Aqua (KONOSUBA)

Saori Hayami as Visha (Saga of Tanya the Evil)

Asami Seto as Raphtalia (The Rising of The Shield Hero), Alpha (The Eminence in Shadow), and CZ2128 Delta (Overlord)

Previously announced characters who will also appear in the anime include:

In addition to crediting the authors of the above series for the original work or original work collaboration, Kadokawa also credits The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious light novel creator Light Tuchihi for original work collaboration.

Minoru Ashina is returning to direct and write the script for the anime at  Studio Puyukai. Minoru Takehara is again designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Ruka Kawada is returning to compose the music.

The anime started as a crossover series between the Re:Zero, Overlord, KONOSUBA, and The Saga of Tanya the Evil franchises. Isekai Quartet 2 also features characters from The Rising of The Shield Hero franchise. The first season premiered in Japan in April 2019. Aniplus Asia aired a simulcast of the first season in Southeast Asia, while Aniplus Asia and Muse Asia both aired the second season in Southeast Asia.

Isekai Quartet 2 premiered in January 2020 and aired for 12 episodes. The Gekijо̄ban Isekai Quartet ~Another World~ film then debuted in Japan in June 2022.
