Anime Detroit

Detroit, Michigan - September 23, 2009 - Anime Detroit, Michigan's anime convention and Japanese culture festival, has announced that it will be held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel located at 5500 Crooks Road in Troy on October 2-4, 2009.

Anime Detroit is dedicated to creating a broader awareness of and appreciation for, Japanese animation by celebrating the richness of this art form. Through cooperation with the community, Anime Detroit hopes to strengthen and facilitate the growth of the anime, manga and related industries in Detroit and beyond. Anime Detroit also seeks to become a vehicle for sharing and disseminating industry information. Anime Detroit also provides the community and related industries the opportunity to network and conduct business. A simple idea in which staffers, fans, guests, vendors and the community work toward a common goal.

Anime Detroit chose Detroit not only due to growing popularity of anime nationwide, but to mainly serve the many regional fans of Japanese animation and comics including the many established organizations that currently exist in high schools, universities/colleges and independently.

Many of the convention details, such as hotel arrangements and guests, can be found on the convention website This includes such guests as Johnny Yong Bosch (voice of Ichigo from Bleach, Vash from Trigun, and the former Black Power Ranger) and his band Eyeshine, Jan Scott Frazier, and many others. Please check the website frequently since we are updating with upcoming guests, events, announcements, etc.

Pre-registration for Anime Detroit 2009 is now open. The pre-registration adult fee is $30 (children 12 and under attend for free) for three days of Convention excitement. At the event 3-day tickets will increase to $35. One day passes are also available for $15.
