Joel McDonald Coming to Matsuricon
COLUMBUS, OHIO - August 9, 2022 - Matsuricon is pleased to announce this guest for our upcoming convention Tana's Night Market: Joel McDonald!
Joel McDonald has been acting for over thirty years and directing VO for twelve.
Most of his directing career so far was spent at Funimation, where he directed shows like One Piece, Space Dandy, Sgt. Frog, Big Windup!, and many more. He's also appeared as Aoyama in My Hero Academia, Phichit Chulanont in Yuri!!! on Ice, Ronald Knox in Black Butler, Takumi in Initial D, Zeref in Fairy Tale, Meow in Space Dandy, and others.
Joel made the move to video games in February of 2018 and is now working as Gearbox Software's very first VOverlord, where he runs auditions, oversees casting, and directs VO for all in-house Gearbox properties.
This year's convention runs August 12-14th. Matsuricon can't wait to host such an engaging guest for this year's con . . . or to see you there!
ABOUT MATSURICON:
With a name derived from the word “Matsuri[祭],” meaning ‘festival’, that's exactly what this convention is: a festival of everything geeky and otaku, from anime to video games. There is something for everyone at Matsuricon and the entire family is encouraged to attend! Matsuricon's annual convention started in 2006 and is back for our first year from a hiatus since 2019. We think of ourselves and our attendees as one huge family that keeps growing and growing every year!
