They can put it in Hawaii, but not California huh? Must have the same marketing geniuses that distribute the Miyazaki films everywhere except where people who want it live...

It's not like they just send a nice letter to a cable provider that says "You will carry our channel or else!".. they have to negotiate, and the provider has to be interested in carrying the channel. Although I wish it was simple like that. I mean, I'm in the hometown of ADV and all it's offshoots, but I don't have the linear channel, just the on demand one.

This is really no surprise. I grew up in Hawaii, and even years ago anime was our bread and butter (and they didn't just run it on KIKU). There's probably still a large Japanese population, so the question is more along the lines of why it took Oceanic so long to get it.
