Hi everyone i hope this is not against the rules or anything but... anyway i've watched a few episode of Destiny... and i really enjoyed it so far.
But i was just curious if i'm the only one out there that really really dislike Shinn who is suppose to be the main character? To tell the truth... Kira Yamato from gundam seed had me much more attached...I really like Kira's personnality, his forte and his weakness... how he struggled through the wars in Seed... As for Shinn... although he looks a lot like Kira... this guys has some serious anger management issues... I mean as far as i got through the serie... he hasn't once stop to complain or crap all over everyone else...spoiler[I do understand how he feels about his entire family beeing killed in the war and all]... but what i can't stand about this guy especially is that he seeem to think he's the only one to suffer... talk about being an selfish idiot. Athrun Zala... goshh this guy really needs to rethink his life...Man after 50 episode of Seed and and even now in Destiny he still doesn't know what the hell he should be doing...He has great abilities, he's smart and an excellent pilot and all...but i think he forgot his brain at home...This guy really remind me of Shinji from Eva sometime i swear!! Ok now... i would like some opinion from you guys which of those 3 pilots you guys prefer...and for which reasons?? As for me, Kira is the man!! He's Extremely Kind, smart and probably the BEST pilot out there... i would really like to see Kira beat the crap out of Shinn one day 
And another reason... although Kira is a coordinator and has exceptionnal skills and intelligence... he was especially weak emotionnaly... ant that's what got me so attached to him...HE IS HUMAN. |

I really dont understand all you people saying Shinn is the main character. It's not cause the series started with him that he is the main character. It is obvious that out of the three, Kira is the only one with any knowledge of what he is doing.
Shinn reminds me of Flay in GS: pissed off and has no idea what he is doing. spoiler[Shooting Cagalli in the middle of her speech was just spasticated. I hope Athrun smacks him again] As for Athrun, well, he thinks he knows what he is doing, but of course he is being manipulated by Dullindal. |

Look at the cast list at the end of an episode. Destiny should be a new show with a new cast. Not "The Adventures of Kira and the Archangel Part II." |

That's sort of what happens when initial press releases for the series identify him as such.
Char knew more about what he was doing than Kamille did, but that didn't make Char the central focus of Zeta Gundam. A character that already knows themselves and what they seek to strive makes for a rather uninteresting lead in the majority of cases. A truly effective lead doesn't fully know what they want, and are forced to find the answer by the events of the series. They grow and change, and as a result make us interested in seeing more of them. Shinn's doing that, and would've been able to do a lot more of it by now had the series' writing been a little smoother up until this point. Kira's type of character works best as a supporting character that further's the lead's development through some form of significant interaction, and not the other way around. |

I don't like him either, but he still makes a great protagonist.
First of all, his actions and personality evoke a lot of emotional reactions amongst the viewers. Second, the character's personality leaves much room for improvement and development. Now, when I take a look at those conditions, I am to conclude that there are two characters who take over the role of Kira: Shinn and Athrun. I know the latter was already a protagonist in Seed but his part in the story has become much more important than in the original series. Anyway, though many of the fans love or hate Shinn, he's still going to cause one hell of a surprise.

Yes i have to give you that Shinn character still have lots of room for development and improvment and all... and that probably what those gundam realisator have in mind
But so far in this serie he did piss the hell out of me... and i'll also give you that he sure had an impression on me although it's a negative one but i guess we'll have to wait and see
As for Athrun, no matter how hard i tried to understand or even like this guy...i cant... he's such an air head! Kira for various reason i already explained... he is my favorite char in this whole serie and his relationship with Lacus is so darling!!
Well to tell the truth beside Kira i never really appreciate any other gundam pilot... well beside Zeck marquise from wings of course

well i use to hate mecha anime... till i watch FMP then i tried that gundam seed a few months ago...i liked those 2 serie so much that i decide to watch The wings serie... but i should have watch that one first, maybe i would have appreciate it a little more.
After i've watch Seed and then come back to wings... somehow the serie just seem a little dull to me... it was good buyt not as good as seed
Right i'm buying FMP fuumoffu as they release it here in montreal... only the first DVD is available 
I'll have to wait till july to get the second DVD |

u no what u should do with that Gundam DX u should buy sum gundam marker to mark the line out it look much better
i think kira going to get his new freedom in Esp.35 like GS i don't kind of like shinn this char he has a problem with everything (he is an idiot as far as i think) and athrun is jkust grtting stupid he should no better what cagillal like he been with her for a whole year man he is dumb
