I don't know what it is, but each novel remains intensely gripping. This series truly surprised me when I started out, and it hasn't disappointed at all since to say the least. And with the direction of the main characters' relationships (at last we break from the tiring "Don't get the wrong idea!" mold) and the promise of meeting the illusive and possibly villainous Miu, it definitely feels like it'll be even more gripping. I can hardly wait for the next volume!

I don't know, I think maybe the mention of Miu in the review (and in the comment above) may qualify as spoilers?
I agree that this is the best of the books so far, and this one left me eagerly anticipating the next. But goodness, what gothic potboilers the books in this series are! There's a reason Nomura chooses the books she does as models, I think....
It's good to see Konoha maturing, and dealing with his inner demons.

I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised by the series so far. I always end up reading way later than I should because I just don't want to put it down.
