I love trigun maximum. Is there any other fans who like trigun maximum? I think it goes into the characters deeper and helps you understand them. Does anyone know how many total volumes there will be?

No it's at volume 11 in japan and on-going. But I heard it will end soon, my guess is volume 13 being the last volume. Last edited by darkhunter on Sun Oct 30, 2005 8:50 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I made a General Manga Questions & References Thread a couple of months back so hopefully people will find it useful to look up simple info by themselves. |

I like it too.... end post.
If your going to say you like it, give some reasons why or something, it is kinda a weak thread right now. I LOVE Trigun Maximum. It is currently my favorite manga I am reading. Unfortunately Dark Horse says Volume 7 was released 11/9 but I can't find it. One of the main reasons I like it more is the portrayal of the Gung-Ho Guns and there fights with Vash the Stampede are a million times better. In the anime they are just senseless killers giving there lives up for Knives and Legato no problem, but in the manga you get the backstory of some of them and they just have a million time more character and personality than in the anime. Also as I mentioned earlier there fights are better cause they use abilities they didn't have in the anime. Not to mention the Gung-Ho Guns that are not in the anime, Elendira the Crimson Nail, Double Fang, Trip of Death. There is also so much more to Wolfwood that wasnt included in the anime as well as some major plot differences: 1.spoiler[Vash and Knives will die if they keep using there plant abilities when their hair goes completely black.] 2.spoiler[The planet they live on cannot support the human race much longer so they must contact Earth for help] 3.spoiler[The half coins that Vash collects for Legato everytime he beats a Gung-Ho Gun. What happens when he gets them all?] Trigun Maximum is just amazing, a definite buy for fans of Trigun. |

Why isn't Maximum separated from the regular Trigun manga in the encyclopedia? It's like this with DBZ, too.

It is not seperated because it is the same story. Trigun switched magazines (Magazine like Shonen Jump, but I am not sure what the name was or the name of the one it moved to) and the old magazine had the rights to the name Trigun so they had to change the name to Trigun Maximum. If your going to read it, read the two volumes of Trigun then go on to Trigun Maximum, thats how the story continues, just like you have to read Dragonball then Dragonball Z if you want to go in order in the story.

The magazine Trigun was originally in was canned, so it switched to the magazine it is currently running in, Young King Ours. According to the encyclopedia, there are 11 volumes of Trigung Maximum (the last of which came out about a year ago). As for how long it will go, I have no idea.

Does the manga go beyond the events of the anime by any chance? If so I may read it as I'm looking for some new material.

It will go farther than the anime, I've only just read the 1st Volume of Maximum, after reading both original Trigun novels, and even though it's still fairly close to the anime at this point, but there has already been a major storyline difference, and that was the scene at Juneora Rock (The Fifth Moon Incident) how that happened was very different in the manga version, so I'm guessing that Maximum will probably be very different as it goes along, similar to what happened with FMA, where the anime goes it's own direction about half-way through since it's caught up to the manga

Many people keep getting this wrong. The manga and the anime even though the early parts of the manga and anime coincide, they are pretty much completely different. Sure Vash has to stop Knives in both but the conflicts and the story and all the battles are completely different. Just think about this, the first 3 volumes (2 Trigun and the first Trigun Maximum) are the only ones in the anime after that it is completely different. He is still doing the Trigun Maximum manga as we speak (It is going to end sometime next year is the word) and in total there looks like there is going to be 14 volumes of Trigun Maximum. |
