Cute? Well Chobits is pretty high up there for me at least... I would also consider Love Hina fairly "cute"

I cannot think of any others offhand at the moment but I am sure it will hit me when I am away from my computer.

Hello Kitty's an anime. Hmm, my previous thread on cuteness. Along similar lines there's a Moe Tournament going on right now. For cuteness, I'd have to say the cutest anime's are Bottle Fairy and Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat.

Tsukuyomi -Moon Phase- is my pick, Catgirl Vampires, good charture degians, and well catgirl vampires.

This is form a guy that has 95% action anime titles so I can really give much more detail on why I find it so cute that I love it.

I found Chobits to be too much cute and not enough plot. So yeah, pretty cute.

Azumanga Daioh also can be rather cute at times, though not enough to hurt your head like Chobits did to me (especially since I'm a fan of the manga, which isn't half as bad, though it does have it's share of cute).

Hmm, I'm seeing all these names of allegedly cute series, yet I have no idea why they are cute Crying or Very sad

Since I'm a lover and connoisseur of cute anime, I can give a few:

Aishiteru ze Baby (my translation="Love ya baby"): centers on the story of a five-year-old girl, Yuzuyu, who is abandoned by her mother and subsequently cared for by her teenaged cousin, whom she calls, "Kippei-oniichan." (Yeah, not realistic, but ya gotta draw the shoujo readership in somehow Rolling Eyes ) And, things stand out as cuter when they're in a non-kids show, as most of the characters are teens/adults. So, not only do you have an adorable kindergartener doing child things, you have tragic/sad situations to take the pathos to eleven. Add in some good-looking high-schoolers (both genders) and some other cute kids, (such as the strangely precocious Marika), and you have a cuteness winner all around. I think Yuzuyu is gathering some votes in the tournament.

CardCaptor Sakura: Just finished episode 70, and I'm ready to order the insulin Laughing It's Clamp goodness, with a naive, well-drawn, determined heroine surrounded by a bunch of other kids, wearing inventive battle costumes, and speaking with the most saccharine voice ever. What cuteness fan couldn't love the constant "hoé" catchphrase that Sakura graces our ears with. Even her name screams cuteness, since (as you surely know) it refers to cherry blossom petals. It just puts a smile on my face every time she says, "jikai mo, Sakura to issho ni ~ RELEASE!!!" in the previews. (This is translated as "Join me next time -- RELEASE!!!", but means something more like, "next time also, together with Sakura ~ RELEASE!!!") (note to self and all: Girls referring to self in 3rd person = childish, but cute. Or deferential, as in Ai yori aoshi.)

Hmm, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is cute because of Haruka in the first two episodes, since she's the classic braided-hair/"shy violet" character who holds an innocent, honest, pure love in her heart--watch the show to see why this doesn't hold true the whole time.

Full Moon wo Sagashite--another shoujo series that ups the cuteness via contrast with tragedy. Mitsuki is very cute in 12 y/o form, and "quite the looker" in 16 y/o form, and the other characters make contributions; I wish I could remember the episode(s) where Meroko switches to plushie form and yells "baka baka baka!!!" while pummeling Takuto with boxing gloves. Oh yes, did I mention it had Death Gods (Shinigami) who can change into plushie forms of a rabbit and a cat Wink Question

Angelic Layer--another Clamp entry, with many of the same factors as CCS--likable, cutely drawn, innocent female protagonist, once more with a trademark "saying"; (this time "nyaa" instead of "hoé," which adds a feline dimension), and with the appropriate missing parent/life setback angst. Plus dolls--can't forget the dolls.

I probably have (many, many) more, but that's enough for now.

Pita Ten is also an anime. Hmm, most of anime mentioned here is either Brocolli (Sugar, Di Gi Charat, Pita Ten) or CLAMP (Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura, Angelic Layer). They seem to be pretty good when it comes to cute things.

I'd have to probably go with Pita-Ten, although Snow Fairy Sugar and CCSakura are close. Chobits was also cute, but it had this level of creepiness that I think undermined the cuteness.

Of course some other series overwhelmed any of those in terms of burst cuteness, for example Hina-Ichigo form Rozen Maiden and Rishu from Mamotte Shugogetten are staggeringly cute, but the shows themselves are not, and the Puchuus in Excel Saga are cute (but what the hell are they?!), as is Menchi.

If you read the manga, Chobits adds even more creepiness, since in the end spoiler[when Hideki chooses to be in love with Chii, he also apparently chooses a sexless life, as having the sex with Chii would mean hitting her reset/reboot switch. Chances are, this is an indictment of the otaku lifestyle that chooses virtual reality and fantasy girls over real-life relationships.]

Guess I'll have to be checking out A Little Snow Fairy Sugar in the future. It'll go well with Bottle Fairy Very Happy

I almost posted this a while ago but got wrapped up in work. Sugar is by far the cutest. My kids are addicted to it.
