We probably won't see it until the series is done running on TV and the series DVDs are all released since the movie is a sequel. And don't expect to see it in theaters either. It will more than likely be direct-to-video.

Why 2007? Why not Fall or Winter 2006? I'm hoping that Funimation is already in (or about to be in) negotiations to get the movie (if it wasn't already agreed upon long ago). And since the TV run will end around May, with the DVD releases a few months behind, the movie could easily make a November or early December release in the US. Maybe Early 2007 at the absolute latest. After all, they only have 6 more DVDs to release, and they have already dubbed the whole series now. They could bump the release schedule from every 2 months to every month and a half and get the DVDs out by September. But that's just how it run if I ruled the world!

FMA is releasing bimonthly and at the current rate, it looks like the final 13th dvd will be release in Feb. 2007 with the movie to follow. And it's definitely Funimation that has the license to the movie. |

The series finished in Japan well over a year ago, managing to put out a full 52 episodes a year, as did the fansubbers, a pace that Funi is well behind. There's no reason the movie isn't out by now, but it isn't, so I don't think it's wise to make any blue sky predictions anout when the movie will be out.

Well! Having opened only in theaters in July in Japon, the film has not set U.S. release date, but expect to catch the flick on U.S. shores sometimes after the final episode airs on Adult Swim mid-2006.
