Oh boy I didn't know this would end up into a big police investigation. I don't know if this is going to be big or scandalous.

I remembered Young Magazine for the fact that it's the one that serializes Kissxsis.

Despite the delay/recall of YM7, the fact that they're trying to stop auctions of it and that it's easy enough to 'find' out there, I assume the circulation had already started by the time Kodansha took action?

So with issue 8, are they gonna have a double-sized issue(7+8) or simply shift release dates(7=>8, 8=>9....)? To prevent messing up the schedules of the serializations the former would be likely.

I was a startled when I first saw the picture. Generally nudity doesn't bother me one bit, but it did seem inappropriate, I guess because they had the boy touching her breasts.

It's funny, if he were just sitting in front of a topless woman, I don't think it would have bothered me. It's that fact that they made a child, touch a grown woman's sexual parts. (Yes breasts are there for nursing too, but this obviously isn't a breastfeeding photo.)

Is it child pornography? I'm not sure. Will the child be traumatized? Probably not, thank goodness. Will someone out there use it as fapping material? Most likely.

Has anyone read Young Magazine? Do they usually try to push the envelope like this? I know they've had some racier titles, but nothing that (I think) got them into trouble. Just curious.

But if the magazine were just making threats against Kuroko's Basketball doujin events, then the police would have stayed out, right?

If she were topless with him it still wouldn't be considered child porn. Even if he were touching her breasts, it still wouldn't legally be considered child porn in Japan, so long as he avoids her nipples. So yeah, breast feeding pics would apparently be considered child porn.

Anyways, the whole investigation is idiotic. It's police and the authorities exercising power for the sake of exercising power.

I understand what they are doing but doesn't it make sense for the police to talk to the photographer and the people that were there when the photo was shot along with the kid's parents? This kinda reminds me of the film "Birth" spoiler[ where Nicole Kidman was in the bath with a 10 year old boy and the producers said they were filmed them separately and merged it with cgi ] That could have been a possibility.

I wish the forums had a "Like" feature just so I could throw one at this comment. So, so true.

Since when does Japan care about actual child pornography? "Junior idols" are a-ok and (there's a chance I'm wrong here but) as far as I know possession of child porn isn't even a crime, just distribution. (Am I wrong about that?)

Why go after Kodansha? They should be going after Tomomi Kasai and the photographer.

Maybe not traumatized by the photo shoot, but we'll see how he feels about breasts after the investigation.

And I'm positive someone out there has already Photoshopped the boys hands out of the picture.

No matter how I look at the boy he still just looks like a Japanese kid with his hair dyed blond. I wonder if he's really of European decent or if the investigators only assume his is because of his hair color? Well, this is a country that wants you to believe that any girl can disguise themselves as a boy simply buy putting on a hat...

Because they are the publishers of the book and therefore assume responsibility of its content. Kasai and the photographer could be culpable, but they could likely be seen as just actors doing what they were paid to do than the absolute perpetrators. Of course, that also depends on their level of involvement and input in the decision-making process…

But either way you slice it, I would imagine someone's out of a job by now…

You're correct, but if they're publishing/selling a magazine with the picture, then it is distribution.

How long do people insist on being clueless on how hard it is to catch an anonymous mailer VS a clear company to go after? Really, everytime you make a comparison to the Kuroko thing it just shows you don't really know anything about history or the world.
