I'm trying to decide on which to buy: Trigun LE box 1, or Rurouni Kenshin economy box 1. RK is on sale right now at TRSI (Media Blasters sale) so I'm really considering it, but I wonder if I should wait until Trigun is on sale (Geneon sale). I'm trying to save my money so I'll probably only be able to get one.
I probably want RK more, but Trigun is LE, so I wonder if I should be safe and get Trigun instead. Granted, it's been out since late last year and alot of people still seem to have it (I've only noticed one online store so far that doesn't have it anymore (DVD Empire)), but it's hard to know if it would be safe to wait and ask for it for the holidays instead.

But if you do plan on buying RK I would try ebay the first season can be easily found (Legit version) for around $35 shipped. Although the second season on rightstuf is a fairly good deal since everyone has that at around 60 or so. It really good deal to me because I have that Got anime card so it worth it to me.
Till next time,

If you are worried you won't be able to buy the 5.1 with original OP versions the remastered DVDs that were used in the LE boxes will be available individually later this year. If you want the LE for the tin though, it might be worth getting. You will get over twice as many episodes with the Kenshin box so along with the sale price it would seem the better choice, unless you want the LE tin.

I want the tin.
Do you think Trigun will be OOP by the time it's near the holidays?

By the holidays, it will have been about a year since the first remix box came out. LE usually means 10k-25k copies, but judging by how long Trigun has been out on both TV and DVD (especially the Signature Series with that ugly red labeling), I'm sure there will probably be some left somewhere on the 'net, as most people have already either seen it on [as], bought it, or borrowed/rented it. And besides, I'm sure there are more people willing to get the individual copies, as it would be easier on their wallets.
Although, Champloo's starter set sold out in like, two or three months, so you may want to think about it. But then again, Champloo is a different beast in itself.

I think those tins will be gone by the Holidays because the Remix editions will be released. But it´s just a hunch... WTF is ¨OOP¨?
If you want the tin, you better act now because they won´t be guaranteed later.

I'm trying to think of good examples of things that went OOP and when. As I recall, FMA's first box went OOP around when it had been out for a year. And Trigun seems like it wouldn't go OOP nearly so quickly. But it's just hard to know. ><

Yeah, that´s what sucks about these ¨Limited Editions¨. You never know when they will run out.

Indeed the LE of the .hack sign dvds are not only available, they are in clearence. As is the Limited Edition Yukikaze volume 1 and many other Bandai releases. I believe all the Samurai 7 boxed versions are limited and available. As are the Scrapped Princess figure editions. The first Trigun tin is however also on sale at TRSI at the moment. I would suggest you go for Trigun for now, since that was one of the reasons for buying the Kenshin discs now and Trigun later. The Kenshin discs will most likely go on sale again in the future.

Well, I decided on RK, simply because I wanted it more. I'll just try and be confident that Trigun will still be around when the holiday shopping time hits and then hope I get it then. I look at it this way: FMA is more popular than Trigun and more in demand, and the first box didn't seem to go out of print until it had been out for around a year, I believe. So I still should have some time. Plus, I'm sure there's the group of people who already own the series who don't want to go to the trouble of buying the new release. And finally, most online sites still seem to have at least a decent amount of them left. So here's hoping it'll stay in print a while longer...

Out of curiosity, which Rurouni Kenshin arc will you be purchasing?
I only own the Kyoto arc, original releases, since it was the only arc that I completely liked. More serious tone, which people who know me know that´s how I like my anime.
I´ve been wanting to get the first arc, but haven´t found a decent price. Although 40% off from $80 sounds good.

Try ebay if your interested at all with the first season box, it can be found at a very cheap price. I am waiting to bid on that and Gantz Season 2 when it drops a bit more on ebay, I made a killing (Really good deal, not like I actually killed someone.) on season 1 of Gantz last month.

I had to look everywhere on Ebay to get a decent (wasn't even really decent in hein-sight) deal. But all of the other Volumes can be easily found and at fairly good prices, check rightstuf.
Till next time,

On average, Geneon seems to have the most "when it's gone, it's gone" items, especially Vol 1 + Box editions. You can still find boxes of older ADV series like Angelic Layer, but some things like the V1+box of Ai yori aoshi (1st season) just simply don't exist anymore.

As I said in my first post, the first arc. I want to start from the beginning.
I liked the second arc best too from my memory. But that's a major reason I wanted to start buying this: I haven't seen it maybe 2 years, and I think I saw the whole first arc dubbed only, and parts of the second, and IMO the Japanese pretty much beats the English into the ground with Sanosuke's zanbatou (it was by no means one of the worst dubs I've seen, but there's no way it could compete with the original Japanese version). Plus, having not seen it in a long while, I want to re-see it and re-live it. Besides, I need the series to fill in the gap between my Trust and Betrayal and Reflection OVA director's cuts. And finally, being one of the very first anime I saw (and the one that introduced me more or less to the wonderfulness that is subbed anime (I started trying it subbed during the second arc I think, and got addicted ), it's a sentimental thing too.

*hugs his AYA box* I had to go through some trouble to get it too. But it's worth it. No way I can own my (arguably) favorite series without its beautiful art box. ^____^
