I'm not sure if I'll get used to the new voices for the characters but this looks great. I can't wait for this to air on the 6th :3

Holy crap, they recast Madarame? That's almost a deal breaker.

Jonathan Joestar for Gai Shishio.

It's a bit of a step down but I'll take it.

Never watched Genshiken in Japanese before, so I have no problems with the casting change

Is there a reason they changed the voice actors? Japan is usually pretty good about getting old cast members to reprise their roles... I simply adored the original two seasons and it will be hard to get acclimated to this one.

Watched the first season dubbed so the change in voices was pretty much a given for me. Super excited for this!

Their voices is one thing. It's been a while since I watched it, so it doesn't bother me that much, though it might in the future when we will have more than soundbites.

What really bothers me is the art. Moe? In my Genshiken? The original art had character, commitment. This, on the other hand, looks highly generic and discouraging. If I didn't know what it is supposed to be, I wouldn't have even paid any attention to it.

Genshiken hands down is one of my favorite manga series and I really enjoyed the anime as well. I have first Genshiken series, then the next "season" as well that were released by Media Blasters some time ago.

Yeah, I am not that thrilled with the moe art either. The original art fit the genre of the series, which was Seinen among the slice of life genre as well. Most, if not all the characters in this series, are adults, with some being in their mid 20's as the show progresses.

Genshiken, at least my opinion, was never a show that was meant to be cute, but depict relatable characters in a mostly realistic setting as well. I've been following Genshiken since Del Ray licensed the manga several years back, but when I was still in college, I felt as if this was a series I could personally relate to.

I don't know of any other anime series I've truly related to such as Genshiken and similar to Iatheia, if I hadn't known about Genshiken prior until now, I might have passed this series completely.

I know we were already in the territory already, but it seems like the committee opted to amp up the otaku pandering by increasing the amount of moe in this series. I am fairly skeptical, I am a huge fan of the first anime adaption and this looks almost completely different. We'll see.
