Bah, the ending was tack on by the anime creators. The manga is still going in Japan.

(thanksmiach in a way, for making this an intelligble conversation)

But as it is, the ending, unlike most tacked on ones, was well written and executed. So it's not like it's a bad thing, really

I think the ending to trigun was very very good. They summed up the whole series and then they had the greatest battle. Besides, its the first time in the series that vash wants to actually kill someone and isn't forced to.

I'm not sure Vash wanted to kill Knives but I sure as hell wanted to. The dude was the worst bastard in the whole series even Brilliant Dynamite Neon came around in the end. The battle was the most kick-ass anime fight i've seen. Though would it kill them to make at least one more ep i'd love to see what Vash was like after that.

You and me both i think they could have mad a whole other series on him after he killed knives and when they were still with Rem. Knives is has bad ethics. He doesn't know right from wrong. Killing is bad not good no matter what.[/quote]

poor, mislead fools.

I really hate going into the series like that, but most of the point in Trigun was knives trying to make out that Rem's ideals and such don't work in the real world and are stupid.

I'm sorry, but do you eat meat? do you eat harvested vegetables? No, I'm not a vegetarian, but I also realize that all of those things involve KILLING animals. But the point is, I'm aware and quite honestly, I don't care. What I always thought Trigun did, was try to point out that while death is bad and everything, it can't be avoided. Sure, murdering children isn’t good, but shooting a man who's about to say, I don't know, drop a bomb into a highly populated area, is as I see, fine. Logic and everything doesn't always work in these sorts of situations.

Oh and frostedsaiyan, you're jumping on the Trigun bandwagon about 2-3 years too late.

That's sort of what I got out of it, Steven.

I kinda saw Vash as a person's SuperEgo, and Knives as their Id. Wolfwood also served nicely as the midground, the compromising Ego.

Vash's (Rem's) ideas are all nice and great and all, but they aren't practical or workable at all. Wolfwood tended to have the most realistic outlook on things out of all three. He was a good man, in general, helped people as best he could, but when it came down to getting his hands dirty, he would if it was necessary.

And Frosted, I'm pretty sure that Vash didn't kill Knives. He shot him a couple times (Once in the chest, I think, in the thigh, and in the arm) but I don't think he was dead. Of course, it's been about three years since I really sat down and watched the series.

Syker Seven.
