Episode 6 was awesome. This show is becoming a favorite of mine. This will definitely get licensed. I wonder who will pick it up. I am leaning towards Funimation. This is just a guess. I pray that Viz does not get it. I really don't see them going after it because it seems a bit "darker" than other titles they have licensed.

Considering this is a more popular Shonen Jump (or specifically Shonen Jump Advance) property, you can bet Viz will be trying to get it unless FUNi or Geneon pony up the cash.

Either way... just for arguments sake... you could/should probably edit your post to remove stuff like that once you realize what happened. Even if it doesn't turn out to be a huge deal, it's still a 'spoiler' persay, so it makes more sense to just edit your post than make another that claims "oh shoot!" Maybe that's just me

After watching the first episode, I decided to tell you some things I remember.
1. The Motorcycle scene: A scene where spoiler[some no-good street punks were attempting to rape this girl but Light put a death to the biker by putting his name on the notebook of death called Death Note.] 2. The Ryuk scene: spoiler[Ryuk appeared at Light's house since he's the one who dropped the book just because he's bored.] 3. The Death scene: spoiler[Light caused all deaths to happen on many criminals and he did this by putting their names on the Death Note.] That's all the recap I have to share with everyone about the I episode. |

spoiler[If Light killed Maki without using a heart attack then he would probably avoid immediate suspicion and it would likely be his best chance at eliminating the hole of letting her tell the police her theory. As it stands, they don't even consider that he can kill without using heart attacks so if she got run over by a car or some such thing then it would probably pass without any major scrutiny aside from her relation to Ray. Of course, if he made her kill herself then it would probably be deemed a grief related suicide and he would be able to remain a step or two ahead of L by killing the only person who suspects the true depth of his power as well as the only person aside from L who can compete with their borderline godly levels of deduction.]
As a side question, does Light actually need the persons real name to kill them? If they introduced themselves as some random name and he wrote it in the Death Note while imagining their face, would they still die? If spoilers are involved with the explanation then say so but I'd like to know. |

Yeah, big surprise, thank you. In case anyone missed it, I'm part of that crowd. So I don't know, but the first thing that popped into my mind was, that is so not her real name. Given how talented she is otherwise, how the hell could she just spill her real name to a total stranger that obviously knows suspiciously much about the Kira case? I don't know. Seems pretty careless, and she doesn't strike me as that kind. My guess is, Light will try to kill her using that name, and fail. And if someone else died instead....boy, will he be in trouble then. He should have done his research on Ray before just bumping him off, leaving loose ends like that. Careless. EDIT: Btw, I think I resent being called "anime-only"....I do a lot of other things... I'd rather think of myself as "sans-manga"..

Episode 7: That tricky little bastard spoiler[ Maki was growing on me and I actually was hopeing he would find a way around killing her but I guess he did what he had to do...in his mind at least] That aside I loved the episode it was so funny to see Ryoku laughing his ass off cause he knew her name and light was struggling.
 Loved the episode.

Oh man, episode 7 came out and basically it was a disappointment. spoiler[I expected much from her and then she died that miserably]. I'm afraid as much as this anime is screaming to be a masterpiece, it may have to come down simply from personal feelings i have towards it. That cocky little bastard "you know who" it's just too damn smart and i hate him for how so easily spoiler[he killed her](i forgort her name). To be honest i'm not that grown of a person where i see a character i like dead or basically if that character is so easily defeated. spoiler[Seeing her eyes as she went off to kill herself while that bastard is behind laughing his ass off made me really pissed]. Anyway i still love the show and i'm still going to wait for the next episode.

Really? Man, this was one of my favorite episodes so far. I loved the way spoiler[he both got her trust and her real name. I also felt the way he timed everything was just perfect. Kira's evil laugh and the pathetic look in Naomi's eyes just reaffirmed everything I was thinking.] To me, this is nothing short of a masterpiece. |

I sorta see where your coming from, I did expect more from her but in away seeing how this is Death Note I didn't expect her to last long since she new such vital info. I didn't get pissed at light for laughing since I like that he's a bit "off" but I have always had a soft spot for likable characters dying especially the female characters. |
