If capcom got as far as to draw out and, in the case of X4, even make anime-style cutscenes, not to mention voice actors and whatnot, what would be stopping them from even creating something along the lines of a 3 or 4-ep OVA of rockman x?
Another funny thing is that there's a 3-ep OVA of the pre-x rockman series.
any ideas?

Nothing's really stoping them, they have afterall done 2 .exe TV series. They probably just don't see it as a popular idea. With X7 and the new X RPG along with the anniversary they may find new interest in it.

There is? Do you have any info on it? I've never heard of it and it's not in the Encyclopedia.

Fansub group [EDIT - Fansub Group - C] are subbing it, and since it looks (so far) that there aren't any licensees yet for the time being, they might still be doing it. The first ep has been available for a good while now.
[EDIT - NOTE: we do not allow linking to fansub groups. Please do not do it in the future. -C]

Cheak out this site, it's got alot of Megaman info, and it's updated daily.
[EDIT - Fansub URL -C]
It's been loading pretty slow lately, and not all of the sections are up yet, but still a very good site.
[EDIT - Again, please do not link to fansub groups. It seems they had a subdomain that hosted Rockman.EXE AVIs, so... out it goes. -C]

Wait, are those OAVs you're talking about the ones funded by the "Japanese Foundation for Intercultual [sic] Relations?" And they're about Megaman (he's even called this in the Japanese dialogue!) learning about Japanese culture and Mt. Fuji?
I saw one episode a while ago, and I thought it was just a one-shot deal. It was way awesome.

I don't know anything about whether it has to do with the Japanese foundation for Intercultural Relations, but you're right about the part where megaman learns a bit about Japanese culture.
of course, that's not the focus of the episode, but yeah, there are scenes like that in it.

Well, whether or not it was the "focus" of the episode, "Intercultual (seriously, it was spelled like this in the opening credits) Relations" was the reason that OAV was produced in the first place. Apparently the best forum for kids to learn about other cultures is through a diminutive, spandex-clad video game character.
They're actually quite well-animated, and well worth seeking out if you can find him. Dr. Wily rules so hard.
