I just wanted to know where you can buy mangas online. I usually buy them at borders for the english version and sasuga.com and the local japanese bookstore for japanese versions. I'm just too lazy to walk to borders everytime I want to get mangas in english.

If you like Borders, then maybe you can try their online store. Also, there are many anime and manga speicalty stores that sell manga at less than retail (what you pay at a store) price.
I don't order online often, so I can't reccommend any stores that aren't related directly with a brick-and-mortar company. Hopefully someone else can!

I've been wondering this too. I know rightstuf sells some manga at less than retail, but from what I've noticed, it depends on what publisher. Anyone know of any online outlets that sell for cheaper than Rightstuf does?

Oh by looking at other threads, someone mentioned a site called deepdiscount.com (I have their old website bookmarked) and it has some pretty good deals and free shipping til April 3. =)

Yes. Formerly known as Deep Discount DVD, they've combined all of their sites into one, so now they sell DVDs, books, CDs, video games, and posters. To my knowledge, their free shipping is constant, so you don't have to worry about that. It should take roughly a week (excluding Sundays) to get your item. And the prices are darn good. 30-33% off retail for manga, 33% off Geneon merchandise, around 40% off Bandai DVDs, and close to 50% off FUNimation, I think. Very recommended. |

Wow, it is actually just over 50% off in-stock Funi DVDs! thanks for the heads up I was missing Basilisk 3 and 4. Actually volume 4 will cost me a dollar and change more because they're out of stock but still a great deal. Too bad they don't include pre-orders for that 51% off, although they still seem to have the best pre-order prices on Funi right now. |

Local comic book stores are a great place to buy manga. They even have discounts sometimes. The one I normally go to has buy four manga get the fifth one free. Also, the one here shrink wraps manga for protection. I bought one from four years ago and with the shrink wrap it looks new.

What? Amazon has great deals on manga. Most titles that are under $10 are buy 3 get 1 free (the 4-for-3 deal) and titles that are over $10 are usually discounted. Plus, you only need to spend $25 in order to get free shipping. |

HUH? I tried to buy Death Note vols. 8-10 from them and found no deals. So I just walked to borders instead. Death Note is listed as $7.99 and I don't see any of the buy 3 get 1 free deals. I do see the free shipping for purchases of $25+ and the buy the package (of two death notes for $15.98 - not really a steal) though. Where are you seeing these buy 3 get 1 free deals. I really would like to know =) Does it go by series? publisher? EDIT: I found it! It goes by certain series I think. I clicked on the next manga under $10 (Ouran High School Host Club) and sure enough it was under product promotions. THANKS for enlightening me about this deal - really appreciate it! EDIT: Death Note does apply to this as well. YAY! |

Actually, it seems most manga at RightStuf is 25% off suggested retail, especially if you pre-order.

Certain companies are now permanently 25% off at Right Stuf, pre-order or not. Specifically, they include: CPM, Dark Horse, ADV, VIZ, DrMaster, and most of Tokyopop's titles. |

The cheapest place I know of to shop online (though I think they're US only)-
Head to www.shopping.yahoo.com, and enter the *ISBN NUMBER* of the book you want to buy (Amazon has them listed). There's a shop called alphacrazeshopping that will come up fairly often (don't know if they get books on the release date or not), and it's always the cheapest. They get great reviews, and I always hear good things from people that have purchased from them. I'm not sure on shipping costs though. Examples Death Note 5 - $4.47 Negima 10 - $6.24 Berserk 10 - $7.95 Looks to be around 44% or more off cover price. |
