They they license the live action movie but not the anime?????
Also, I could be wrong but isn't it Maiden Japan that license Clamp School Detectives? If so that I can see where the confusion came from, seeing as Maiden Japan is a subsidiary of Sentia Filmworks.

Maiden Japan licensed the Corpse Party OVA series. And they are connected to Sentai somehow. It makes sense that they licensed the movie too. Even though I didn't expect it.

CSD is licensed by Maiden Japan but distributed by Section23.

I am genuinely surprised at the CLAMP School Detectives license rescue. I have the older Bandai DVD set so I won't be partaking, but I'm glad that people can get it at an affordable price again. It's been hovering at about $60-$70 for a while, now.

Maiden Japan is owned by Switchblade, which distributes their titles through Section 23. Sentai is a separate company that also uses Section 23, and both have their authoring and production done in the same studios.
Also, Maiden Japan did license and release the Tortured Souls OVA series, so some of the anime adaptations are available here.

More importantly, the Sentai version probably has a better A/V job.

"Now, it's a brutal education in supernatural survival as the students fight both the resident spirits and each other, where the odds of graduating alive, let alone in One Piece, are sliced shorter and shorter with every heart-pounding second."
The random One Piece link in the middle of that sentence in the article made me laugh.
Anyway, didn't expect the Corpse Party movie to get licensed, but then again I also didn't expect the OVA to get licensed and that did, so... Anyway, I'll probably pick this up when it comes out.

Oh wow, I was just rewatching the episode of X where they visit the Clamp School campus earlier this week. Clearly, this DVD's release was foreordained.
