10th anniversary of the anime. And as I'm currently rewatching Higurashi/Kai with the recent blu-ray rerelease... yes, I absolutely can believe it's 10 years old. Laughing

Sounds like this event didn't get a lot of attention. Too bad, it looks like it would have been pretty fun to go to as a fan. That Tomitake... thing is just weird, though.

Wow this is insane that it's been 10 years. I certainly loved the series with all the plot twist and cast. Amazing! Wish I could've gone.

All that Rena goodness. I love it. Very Happy

On a somewhat related note. I'm still waiting for the return/remake of the Umineko anime. This is a miracle that needs to happen.

I pray to Oyashiro-sama that this show can get an uncensored UK release. At least a US re-release can improve the odds of this happening.

I liked that the layout of the exhibit went with the feel of the show. Starts off cute and fun, then gets creepy and horrifying. Thank you so much for sharing this. I love the show and the VNs Very Happy

Unbelievable that it's been a decade since the debut of Higurashi. The anniversary celebration may be small compared to more popular shows that had their grand celebrations, but I think it still brings out a big bang with all of the memorabilia and tour displays. Smile

This looks like it would have been a lovely little thing to visit. Higurashi doesn't do itself well for art but I loved seeing it back in the day.

I much appreciate the coverage from ANN. This is one of those little gems I think few of us would have ever had the pleasure of learning about if it weren't for this editorial. Many thanks!

So its already 10 years. As a fan of Ryukishi07 I really appreciate the article, I can feel the effort the staff puts into all those details and decoration. The club room and lockers really brings out the Higurashi atmosphere. Too bad about the short duration and poor advertisement.

While there were still happy-go-lucky images present, they slowly mirrored the mad decent of the series.

descent?

Not being one for horror, the only thing that appeals to me from the franchise is the music.

Eiko Shimamiya is a living legend.

Give it... 4, 5 episodes? You'll know when. Heck, it becomes substantially more interesting after 2 or 3.

It personally hooked me at episode 1, but most people I've showed Higurashi to struggled with episode 1. The beginning with the SOL stuff is... not necessarily the best. Personally I think Higurashi is at it's worst when it's trying to be funny and especially when it's trying to be fanservice-y, but the rest of the show more than makes up for it.
