Wolf's rain getting a new release makes it feel like 2004 again.

Not surprised Dantalian's a sub only release. It had some neat ideas but the execution felt lacking and never very engrossing. There's better stuff to dub that'd have a bigger payoff.

oh man, wolf's rain, I'd never thought i'd see it get rescued. I remembered it be pretty great when i'd watch it on toonami as a kid.

What happened with their Outlaw Star rescue? They announced it and then silence. Did it quietly get scrapped or they getting their materials slowly?

Woah, Wolf's Rain. I haven't seen that in years. It's nice to see so many older shows that I liked coming back again and in Blu-ray too.

I'll be interested to hear about the quality of the Wolf's Rain bluray. As far as I know, Japan never released a bluray so this will most likely be upscaled. If you already own the dvds, it probably won't be worth a double dip. The show was produced digitally so it's not like a remaster like Bebop or Yu Yu Hakusho.

I feel like the wolves when they were dancing around Cheza, I'm so happy now that I'll be able to own Wolf's Rain on blue ray soon. Very Happy

Funimation's actual announcement says this:

Quote:
What is really great about this release is that Wolf’s Rain is only available on Blu-ray in US and Canada; Japan has yet to release Wolf’s Rain on Blu-ray. Funimation worked closely with the licensor on the up-conversion from standard definition to high definition in-house giving you the chance to watch Wolf’s Rain remastered in HD!

*sigh*

And still nothing on Akito The Exiled or Outlaw Star.....

At this point, Funi should just give them to RightStuf/Nozomi. At least they're actually doing something with their Sunrise licenses....
