Well, that's pretty damn cool.

I haven't watched Megazone 23 in awhile now, but I always liked it.

Hopefully this turns out well.

It's true, I was just thinking about what a third season of Sasami Magical Girls Club would be like!

Wow! This is awesome news. I'd love to see what a Megazone-23 film would look like with today's animation technology. I think studios are starting to see that there's a market for bringing back old franchises, such as Dragon Ball Super, the new Berserk anime, Ushio & Tora, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

So I could have purchased AIC for less than $80? Smile

Of course, it was probably some sort of necessary paperwork thing like selling a car to your brother for $1 but it still sound cool that you could have purchased a legendary studio for less than the price of Tenchi box set back in the day

Considering how bad Megazone 23 Part III was compared to the first 2, I'm not sure I have high hopes for a Part IV. But I'm definitely interested to see what comes from this.

Megazone 23? There's a name I haven't heard in a long time.

I haven't gone by the name Megazone 23 since before you were born.

Think that was a mistranslation of "Animates the titles you distantly remember!"

(Because whoever paid the $77 for AIC was able to grab the property licenses, like all the other name-only Tenchi resurrections.
Tenchi has become sort of the equivalent of all our Terminator sequels.)

If they can do a Megazone 23 remake as good as they did for Space Battleship Yamato, I'll be a very happy man! What I'd really love to see is having it as a TV series like it was originally planned.

I'm a little disappointed that the news article left out the fact that Toshihiro Hirano was the main character designer for MZ 23 and that Mikimoto only designed Eve.

Part of what makes Megazone 23 work is very...specific, so it's not such an easy thing to simply transplant it into modern looking anime. They'd better have a solid vision for it.

Of course, I wonder if anything will even come of this. There was actually talk of a new one all the way back in 2005 and nothing happened. That might've simply ended up being the Blue Garland PS3 game, although I don't believe Mikimoto was in on that one.

2 "very" AIC titles getting new installments is something to look forward especially Megazone 23.

Wow, AIC still making things happen. So they want to bring back Megazone 23? Well they need to get Haruhiko Mikimoto back on designs.

The final scene of the original Megazone 23 is one my favorites of all time. The biggest benefit I can see from a remake is hopefully a more unified project. I really hated the style change between 1 and 2.

Please, part 1 has cookie cutter blander than bland 1980s design on all levels especially on the character design.
Part 2 is what really distinguishes Megazone 23. If you want Minmay go watch Macross, Megazone 23 is not for you. Laughing
